Owls on Île Bizard

After spending almost an hour in the Jacuzzi at the gym, my back felt loose enough to allow me to take a short hike to nearby Île Bizard. The area have been very popular with bird watchers all over the Northeast as it is home to a significant number of Great Grey Owls. We call them "Chouettes Laponnes" in French.

We got lucky. This superb specimen was perfectly illuminated by the morning sun and stayed long enough for me to set-up the tripod (a necessity if you want to use the 10X zoom). Once my back is better, I'll come back to try to capture them in flight.
