Arenal volcano
This was the view from our swimming pool in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. Every now and then we would hear a sound similar to a faraway plane taking off...but there is no airport around. We were very lucky since the summit is often hidden by clouds. Through the haze, you can barely distinguish areas where the jungle is creeping up and where it was burned up and covered by hot ash.
I hope that you enjoyed the Festival of Lights series. If you missed it, you can see all of the images in the "Canada" category. I have decided to keep the last five images for another time, one can grow tired of eating dessert at every meal. Still, it has been an exciting few days.
