Photo Friday: Analog

The goal of the Photo Friday Extra Challenge was to post an image than was not taken with a digital camera. I decided to go one further and post a nice but unremarquable shot whose sole claim to fame is to be the last analog image that we ever took. Christiane snapped this shot of me in 2002 while we were horseback riding in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. I then put the camera in my backpack where vibrations put an end to 17 years of service.

I spent the rest of the trip using a digital camera that was loaned to us by my in-laws. The differences in image quality and color saturation were striking. I realized that, when you're traveling, being sure that you got the shot is an enormous advantage.

I never returned to film.
