Royal Decameron Salinitas El Salvador

Royal Decameron Salinitas

Since the tourism infrastructures in El Salvador are still embryonic and geared toward local visitors, we ended up at the Royal Decameron Salinitas, the country's sole all inclusive resort. The only other time that Christiane and I ever went to an all inclusive was in the Dominican Republic 18 years ago. It's my way of saying that our comparative base is fairly sparse.

Nevertheless, the rooms and pools were immaculate, the grounds were beautifully landscapped and the staff was first class. The food was good, especially if you stuck to the local cuisine, and the bars were of my favorite kind...open. Even though the entire complex was packed during Easter weekend, it never felt overcrowded. Finally, 80% of the clientele was from Latin America, which for us was a good thing since we really wanted to feel that we were in a different country.
