Welcome to Tokyo
When people ask me why we decided to visit Tokyo, I invariably answer "for the food"; Christiane and I love Japanese cuisine. I am writing this at the end of our first full day in the city. We're staying in an apartment in Nakano, one train station away from the huge Shinjuku station. Easy access to anywhere we want to go but this is a neighbourhood that definitively feels "local".
As we were exploring the area, I noticed the charcoal fire through the window and I knew right away that we absolutely had to eat at Nakano-Okajoki. Not only were the fish and lobster excellent, but the ambiance was absolutely awesome.
