Twittering the Rush concert
Just as I was entering my early teenage years, my best friend's father bought a high fidelity stereo. I'll always remember sitting in front of it, putting the earphones on and grabbing an LP at random. It was Rush's Moving Picture and the first song was Tom Sawyer. I've never been the same since.
Many many years later that same friend got me tickets for their latest concert in Montreal. It's about 1 AM so I'll simply post my comments as I sent them live to Twitter:
• If I go to see Rush from the private box of a big financial brokerage firm, does that make me a corporate tool? What if it has an open bar?
• Since the concert box has an open bar, I'm taking public transit.
• There is always a slight amount of worry when waiting for 'he who has the tickets'
• Rush is sharing the stage with a chicken rotisserie!
• Oh hi Geddy Lee, I can has Tom Sawyer plz?
• These guys started rocking when we were still virgins
• Somebody brought his laptop to a Rush concert!
• Be cool or be CAST OUT! I love Subdivisions!
• God it's been so long since I've seen a good long drum solo! NEIL PERT RULES!
• Having the Southpark kids introduce Tom Sawyer...brilliant!
