I have been playing with BlogExplosion. The idea itself is pretty slick, for every two blogs that you spend at least 30 seconds visiting, you are guaranteed a visit in return. Unfortunately they have a huge implementation problem. Even though the registered blogs are classified in categories (politics, familial, photoblog, etc...), there is no way to select which of those you are interested in. In the end, most visitors are only there to amass credits and spend their time looking at the counter.
A PhotoblogExplosion would be much more interesting...originality is hard to come by and watching stuff that you're not interested in gets old REAL fast.
